Here's some conditioning for you: your device detects clutter on your surfaces. Without prompt, a person/entity that is attractive to the user walks in, touches the counter, and says "Hey... if you clean your counter we can play around on it! <3"

Also, regarding the "extensions" model; AR should have an Apps as Objects paradigm. Right now in AR the efforts seem to be still in the "single application" model where you switch between contexts but what will be interesting is having a lot of small "objects" that can all exist and act independently, and together. As a very simple example, you might download a measuring utility that allows you to place a tape measure in a virtual holster on your waist. You can then pull the object out with your hand, draw the tape with your other hand, and measure a real-world object.
